Jason Yost Yost Family Journey

First post: Nov 5, 2020
To know Jason and Annie Yost is to love them!  They have faced more than their fair share of challenges.  But in each case, they rise up and overcome it together.

On October 16, 2020, they received devastating news following a routine doctors appointment for Jason.  Jason has been diagnosed with cancer.  After further testing, it has also been determined that the cancer has spread to other areas of Jason's body including his lungs.

Jason's doctors have created a treatment plan for him. Friday, November 6, they are putting in a port for chemotherapy treatments. He will be doing 8 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation concurrently.  These treatments will begin November 16th and will be 5 days per week. After these treatments have concluded, Jason's doctors will determine if surgery is an option.

Whether you know Jason from work, school or church, you'll know he is the warmest, most family-focused, and giving person.  His children, Kellen (3) and Caroline (2), and his wife, Annie are always his biggest priority.  He and Annie always have a word of encouragement to share and are quick to lend a hand to anyone in need.  We'd like to help Jason and Annie by overwhelming them with support, both financial and acts of service are needed to make sure that Jason's health and recovery is their primary focus.

The medical bills are coming in and have already exceeded $30,000.  The funds raised through this page will go directly to Jason and Annie to assist with these bills, future bills and expenses they will incur as they fight this battle.

Please lift the Yost's in prayer.  They are asking for prayers in some specific areas.
1 - Pray that the treatment is effective.
2 - Pray that surgery is a viable option following chemotherapy and radiation.
3 - Pray for guidance for Jason's medical team.
4 - Pray for strength for Jason and Annie during this time.

There are multiple 'Ways to Help' -
1 - Meals - See 'Meal Train' - we would like to have dinner delivered to their doorstep multiple times per week.  Contact-less delivery is preferred to reduce any potential exposure for the family.  Also, if you're not a cook, consider sending a gift card to a meal delivery service in Joplin (i.e. Grub Hub, Uber Eats, etc.)
2 - Service - See 'Planner' - things like running errands, filling up a gas tank, yard work, decoration set up for holidays, etc.
3 - Well Wishes - Cards can be sent to Jason and Annie Yost, 2802 Sparkling Waters Court, Joplin, MO 64801
4 - Financial - Jason and Annie appreciate any monetary donations but have requested they be sent privately. A bank account has been opened at Southwest Missouri Bank.
