Yesterday (Friday,  March 05, 2021), my brother Jason was on a skiing trip with friends at Lake Tahoe; when he didn't come down the mountain like usual, so his friends went looking for him, and they found he had fallen and was unable to move his right side and not making sense. Ski patrol was called, and Jason was airlifted to the Renown Regional Hospital in Reno, Nevada.

CT scan shows he had a stroke (brain bleed) due to high blood pressure on his left side near his basil ganglia and speech center,  with no other trauma.  Jason was given Cardene GTT drip due to his systolic being in the 190s upon arrival; his BP has improved to 125/68, and he has an IV to help with medications and maintain his fluids.  At this time, neuro has said he is not a candidate for surgery.

Jason is currently in the ICU and has made some minor improvements during his last neuro assessment; he is still weaker on his right side but can raise it completely above his head and keep it there, but he is still tough to understand.

With this being said, the next few days and figuring out what the next steps are for Jason will be crucial to his recovery. We know he will have a long road ahead of him, but we are extremely thankful he had amazing friends who acted quickly.  I will try my best to keep you updated but mostly asking for prayers for Jason.

Thank you to Jason's amazing friends for reacting quickly and finding out how to get ahold of my parents and me.  Thank you for being there with Jason and being our eyes and ears in Reno, so glad you were with him and are such great friends.
