We will keep you updated the very best that we can so that the immediate family can focus on healing. 48 hours ago I (many of us) were just beginning to hear news that Jason had been struggling with sickness since the Christmas holidays. Jason had an appointment mid May to start to check into this illness, a cancellation came up and he took the opportunity to be seen early........ 48 hours later we have a diagnosis and know we need to buckle down, bond together and get ready to support the fight passionately so that Jason has the necessary strength to walk through this fight to win. Jason has been been diagnosed today with Malignant Melanoma Stage 4 cancer. Probably related to the black mole he had removed from his arm 2 + years ago. Jason has tumors through his entire GI system, lymph nodes & blood with black nodules under his skin over his entire body. There is a large tumor in his lung also that is all related. There currently are no surgical options to fight this. He has an MRI of his brain scheduled tomorrow Friday April 8th and a full PET scan Tuesday morning. They are currently doing a genetic test to see if he has the markers that will allow for Immune Therapy, a new thing (to us) that is not as destructive as chemo to the body. They will be putting a port in his chest for testing etc. They meet back with the oncologist Thurs or Fri for the rest of the info & to see if that treatment will work for him. There is a lot of information, more to come, but we wanted to get this started to begin to get the word out and to get the support and love flowing. Bre is on Spring Break this week and is able to be with him through each of these steps as in Linda, traveling back and forth daily. Thank you, Aunt Melissa
