Hello Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Well I thought I would not have to do one of these sites again. However I was mistaken. Several weeks ago we were with our hockey family doing our annual camping weekend at The Gangls. We rented an inflatable water slide to add to the fun. The adults had as much fun as the kids did I think.  After a few trips down the slide I attempted to climb the ladder for a final slide and ended up losing my footing and sliding down over several of the ladder rungs with my scrotum taking the brunt. I assumed the swelling would subside but after about two weeks  it hadn't. So Lynn made an appt with Dr Novak, a urologist, at Grand Itasca.  After an ultrasound and some elevated lab work it was decided to remove the right testicle due to not being able to perform a proper exam because a hydrocele was in the testicle.  The pathology report came back as stage 2 b seminoma and a CT scan showed two enlarged lymph nodes basically in the back of the pelvis area suspicious for metastases.  I will be meeting with a doctor from the University of MN to decide what the next steps should be whether it will be more surgery first to remove the lymph nodes or start chemo right away. Chemo can be done at Grand Itasca through Dr Provatas which is where I would like to be, obviously closer to home. We will update when we know more.
