Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are now using it to keep family and friends updated about Jason's health with the closure of Carepages, which we had been using for almost six years since Jason's initial diagnosis of high risk AML and his related journey through two stem cell transplants and subsequent experimental treatment.  I have inserted the initial information from CarePages below to show history, but could not include all the journal updates because they were too lengthy.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Jason's Story

Jason went to donate blood at an office blood drive on December 13, 2011 and was rejected. He decided to follow up with his doctor on December 15 since he hadn't been feeling 100%. She checked his blood and sent him directly to the oncologist who did a bone marrow biopsy. On December 20, he got a diagnosis of acute myelogenous leukemia. By December 21, he was evaluated at MD Anderson, where he will start intensive inpatient chemotherapy on December 27. Until then, we are just hanging out and trying to keep him fever/infection-free so he can stay at home with our family until chemo starts. We already so appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have had during this difficult time.
