On Sunday, July 31st Jared was in a motorcycle accident. He collided with a tractor trailer as the driver turned in front of him. The trailer dragged him 20-30 feet. Jared was taken to Regions Hospital and has undergone three surgeries for a broken arm, and a ruptured thigh muscle that was bleeding under the skin and causing pressure that lead to compartment syndrome. During surgery they had to make an incision from his hip to his knee to release the pressure. They were able to close him up and put a drain in. They also added a IVC filter that prevents blood clots from traveling to the lung or heart.  The third surgery was on the right leg. He had to have a cadaver transplant of all his ligaments because they're too damaged to repair. He also had nerve damage and because of the nerve damage he has a drop foot. For now he is confined to the bed and will use a wheel chair for the next six weeks. The doctor said he'll have a long recovery. The function of his foot will take a year and for it to be back to normal will take up to two plus years. Jared is still at Regions Hospital since his surgery he has had an ongoing fever and low hemoglobin. He has had a blood transfusion, many x-rays and MRI scan to figure why he is having complications.
