Jan Wood The Wood Journey

For those who may not already be aware, she's been diagnosed with lung cancer. She went into the ER on Sunday August 28th, 2016 because she was having difficulty walking due to numbness from the mid-chest down, combined with back pain. After discovering that the cause of these symptoms was a tumor in her back, the doctors diagnosed her with lung cancer. Masses were found in her lungs, liver, alongside the outer lining of the heart, and in the spine and spinal canal. She had surgery on her back on Tuesday August 30th to remove the tumor in order to relieve the pressure on the spinal cord and allow her to walk normally again. The surgery required the removal of bone and insertion of rods in the back as well to completely remove the tumor. It was determined that her cancer is Stage 4.  She is doing targeted therapy for the cancer, but her Rheumatoid Arthritis is making this an even harder battle.  We ask that you would continue to keep Jan in your prayers.

Ron was also diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in February of 2017.  It's been a rough road to find a treatment that works for him as he's had heart issues as well.  He had a pacemaker inserted in December 2017 and is continuing his treatment for the cancer with his oncologist.  Prayers that his treatment continues to target the cancer and we see good results!
