On December 4th, 2021 Jan went to the hospital with stroke-like symptoms. The doctors ruled out a stroke but found a brain tumor.  On December 9th she had a craniotomy which removed nearly all of the class IV Glioblastoma. An aggressive form of brain cancer. There is no cure for brain tumors and reoccurance is common, but they can be treated.

Mom shared this with me. It really resonated with her.  Stuart Scott, the late ESPN anchor who died of cancer, once told an audience, “When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live.” I created this site to keep family and friends informed about her journey. We appreciate your support,  prayers, and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
