Jan Jones Jan Jones Journey

In mid September 2019, our Mom began having abdominal pain.  Like most people she dealt with it for a couple of weeks. The pain continued, and in late October she insisted on a CT scan. The scan showed a spot on the pancreas, which was something she suspected but certainly did not want to hear.  Mom called MD Anderson to schedule an MRI.  The results confirmed a 2cm mass on the body of the pancreas and a biopsy was done after several scheduling issues.  The tumor was confirmed and another scan was completed to determine whether it had spread outside the pancreas. Thank God it hadn't, and our parents met with the surgeon and oncologist team  to develop a plan of care.

She is undergoing chemotherapy every two weeks and if all goes well, she will have surgery to the remove the tumor in  2- 4 months.

The doctors are optimistic regarding a cure and she and our Dad know the the Lord is with them during this journey.  They feel the presence and the prayers of family and friends.  They also thank the prayer warriors and friends at John Wesley United Methodist Church for their care and support.
