Jan, one of the sweetest souls on earth, was diagnosed with invasive ductile carcinoma (breast cancer) in 2016. Since then she has beat it and was “cancer free” multiple times. In an effort to lessen life’s stressors, this past January we moved Jan and her family from her home in Ramsey to a one level townhome in Elk River with no mortgage. All this while she was going through chemo and radiation.

Chemo and radiation has given Jan more time with us here on earth and also taken its toll on Jan’s body. She lost her hair and a lot of weight. Many family members and friends have volunteered to take shifts to help Jan and her family with whatever was needed including meals, laundry, rides to her doctor visits, cleaning and simple things like a back rub or sitting with her to watch a movie. Jan and her family are so blessed to have such a huge circle of loving caring people.

She has said many times, “I’m not giving up”. Friday, March 20th Jan was admitted to Mercy Hospital because of extreme weakness and increased trouble with breathing. We are saddened to say Jan is now in hospice and given 2-7 days until the oncologist predicts that God will call her home. The hospital will only allow the immediate family to be at her side due to virus protection of the staff and other patients.
