Welcome to Janet's CaringBridge website. Kristin encouraged me to start this page so we can keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your words of hope and encouragement. We hope this helps you feel connected - we may not always respond, but your texts, emails, calls and posts make a huge difference and we are grateful for your love and support!
Janet was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2016 and in January had surgery to remove her left lung. In early March, we received the news that the cancer had spread to other parts of the body (metastasized). She then went through radiation (to treat her upper spine) and immunotherapy (Keytruda) to treat her entire body.
Janet passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27 at 11:31pm. On Sunday she went to the ER with breathing difficulty, which turned out to be pneumonia that her lung couldn't handle. All the kids were with her for the end. Thanks for all your love and support the last few months and ongoing.
