Welcome to my CaringBridge website. Thank you for visiting.
I’m having knee replacement surgery on January 17th at St. Mary’s. In the last couple years, I’ve been able to do less and less of the activities that bring me joy: biking, serious hiking, XC skiing, snowshoeing, riding my elliptigo. This past fall, walks of even short distances were painful. So I’m ready to have the surgery and very motivated to get back on my feet asap. I’m also very grateful that this is a mechanical issue and not a serious health issue.
I’m starting this caring bridge to coordinate help walking Sadie during my recovery. She’s a sweet dog and pretty well trained, but can sometimes be reactive to other dogs when she's on a leash. So I won't be able to walk her alone for quite a while. She will be in day care every day for three weeks post surgery, so I'll only need help with walks or dog park visits on Saturdays and Sunday for the first three weeks. Starting February 7th, she'll be at day care MWF. So some kind of outdoor adventure would be helpful on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. I don't need every "shift" filled. Jeff will be taking her for walks and I can always get a Wag walker in a pinch. And timing is VERY flexible. Something mid to late morning is ideal, as that is when Sadie starts getting restless, but any time would be appreciated. I hope that after 2-3 weeks, I'll be able to join you on walks or dog park visits with her.
So, if you’re looking for a dog fix or an excuse to be outside, please consider a Sadie walk.
Thanks so much! I sooooo appreciate my incredible circle of friends.
