After 8 years of clean checkups, I learned on April 27th that my cancer moved on to stage 4 very quickly. My oncologist explained to me that some cells were not eradicated from the cancer treatments I had, and settled into my lungs, my liver and my spine. And suddenly within the last 3 months, they mutated and grew to numerous tumours. I learned this because I had trouble digesting and it was getting more and more uncomfortable to sit for long periods. So I went to a walk in clinic and long story short, within 2 days Jim and I knew. So, back to Sunnybrook for blood tests, heart tests, brain scan and bone scans to get measurements for when I begin treatments, which is May 19th. Had I not caught this, my oncologist told me I would have only had a year more. So, I am starting the fight again, and with all my friends and family around me - please visit this page and write to me as often as you like. When I am feeling up for it, I will update journals too. Thanks so much to all of you and your jokes, laughs, love and support. Keep it coming!
