On November 9th, 2016, after days of back pain, Janet went into the ER to have it looked at. While there, they did a CT Scan and found a tumor on the duodenum. She met with her cancer doctor and her surgeon at the end of November in Sioux Falls to get a plan in place. The plan would result with her being on a chemo pill to shrink the tumor before it would be surgically removed. The tumor ended up shrinking just a little under half it's size and didn't show any change in June, so it was time to have surgery. Janet met with surgeon and surgery was completed in July 2017 in Sioux Falls.
Fast forward 4 years and during her CT scan in December 2021, another mass was located close to the spot of the prior tumor. Janet started chemo pills and had 3 month scans. The tumor shrunk more than half the size and surgery was scheduled for October 20th, 2022.
Janet is a fighter and is a 13 year survivor of Breast Cancer. We all know that she will have a successful surgery, however, prayers are strongly requested. We know that Vonna and Russell (Janet's Parents), are watching over her as her guardian angels and will make sure everything goes well.
