Janet Mayer, for those who don't know her or who don't know all of her, is a wonderful mom, musician, teacher, friend, and former wife. She was the daughter of two Quaker ministers and grew up playing for evangelical revivals, concerts, camp meetings, and church services in addition to classical piano recitals.  She even played for a Billy Graham meeting. She earned two master's degrees, one in music and one in education. She was an Air Force wife and travelled and lived all over the world. She taught many students at many levels in many subjects, including music, but spent the bulk of her career teaching math at Park Village Elementary school.  She served on advisory boards for the state of Texas. She was the organist and choir accompanist for over 23 years at Windcrest United Methodist Church. She was named Organist Emeritus after her retirement there.  She also developed the choir at the Army Resident Community Protestant Chapel  where she served as Music Director for a number of years.

She is a mother who imparted faith, music, love, and strength to her only living child, Kathy. She was a caretaker during many weekday afternoons and some evenings for her only living grand-daughter, Hannah, during the first six years of Hannah's life. Hannah is her "Best Buddy".

During the course of her life, she has encountered many life-threatening health challenges, many of which were so rare that she has been featured at conferences and written about in medical papers, journals, and books. She rarely complains and endures her ordeals with grace and a smile.  This website is dedicated to her latest journey.
