As many of you may be aware, our beloved mother, grandmother, great and great/great grandmother - Janet King, is presently on home hospice care at the age of 98. She lived a long healthy life - lived independently and drove her Cadillac until the age of 89. The following is an attempt to bring everyone up to speed on Janet's life since then...
After developing Colitis in 2010, Janet became very weak and was no longer able to live independently; resulting in her move from Saltillo, Mississippi to Florida where she lived with her daughter, Judy in Florida for a couple of years. After regaining her strength, she moved to an 'Active Senior Living' community in Memphis, TN; near her daughter, Joy where she lived until May 2017. As Janet's physical and cognitive health declined - she required more assistance attending to her personal and medical needs - of which her son, John and daughter-in-law, Martha, were able to provide in their Nevada home. In December, 2019, Janet was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and placed under home hospice care. She relocated again to Tennessee in February 2020 to live with her daughter, Joy and son-in-law, Rusty.
We are blessed to have the love, support and prayers from family and friends. In partnership with the exceptional nurses and volunteers of Baptist Trinity Hospice, we are striving to provide a safe, comfortable and loving environment for Janet as she lives her final days on earth. We are encouraged by her belief in Jesus Christ and His promise of eternal life (John 3:16). We are fortified by the strength He provides (Philippians 4:13).
