The short story....
Our sister, Janet Hart, has had a year of mysterious ailments. The story is long so I will just ask you to google “sweets syndrome” to begin understanding. This syndrome is rare, very misunderstood, but it can be associated with Leukemia. In April of this year she had every invasive and non-invasive tests done, including a bone marrow biopsy. All showed she was pretty darn healthy with no maladies invading her personal space. (Except for her sisters).
As Sweets can flare up (despite her steroid rage) she started getting fevers last week and ended up in the hospital. To our surprise (kinda?), her bone marrow biopsy came back not so healthy and outright defiant. Rightly named, these pre-mature, infant cells are called “blasts” that the bone marrow kicks out because they are trouble. And trouble they are.
We are, collectively, her entire loving family, starting this site to keep you all informed of her progress. This war against blasts has just started as she begins Chemo today. She will be getting Chemo for 7 days, 24 hrs straight and will be in the hospital for about 4 weeks.
If you want to visit, please, if you even feel you might be coming down with something, or your kids are sick- just text her your well wishes. We recommend that you wear a mask to be on the safe side. Also, no live plants or flowers are allowed in her room.
Her GoFundMe is set up through this page or you can use https://www.gofundme.com/qee5qkk.
PJanet- 🍻- we got your back, front, sides and innerds! Kick it!
