On September 15th, Jane went by ambulance to Altru hospital, where it was determined that she had experienced heart failure. They stabilized her, and she spent 4 days in ICU. It was determined that she had 100 percent blockage, and would need quadruple bypass surgery. Surgery was performed on Wednesday, September 21st. During surgery, Jane suffered a massive stroke. After several hours in recovery, it was determined that she needed surgery in Fargo, and was flown there Wednesday night. Once she arrived, and tests were run, the Doctors told us that the stroke had already done its damage, and she was not a candidate for surgery. We were told that the next 4-5 days would be critical, and that they were watching for hemorrhaging and swelling. On Thursday afternoon, they discovered swelling, and rushed her into surgery. They removed part of her skull, to relieve the pressure. Her heart is strong again and doing well. The next few days remain critical, while they control the swelling, but she is stable. We will continue updates as we receive more information.
