Welcome to this CaringBridge website. Members of my "caring team" and I will be using this site to keep you loved ones updated in one place since I've not had enough time to answer individual texts and calls. But your  words of hope and encouragement are greatly appreciated! Lemme go ahead and give the health details that have been so hard for me to discuss: after being diagnosed with breast cancer in one boobie, I tested positive for BRCA 2 gene mutation . . . so (much like Angelina Jolie) I'm looking at having a "preventative" double mastectomy, having "expanders" put in my chest, having chemo treatment, and then having implants replace the expanders and possibly coupling that surgery with an oophorectomy and hysterectomy. I am currently recovering from the first surgeries (done in Memphis) with my parents in the MS Delta. I will be traveling back to my home in New York to receive the chemo and radiation treatments.
