Welcome to Jana’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
A couple of weeks ago when Jana was having her uterus removed, the surgeon found and removed some "worrisome" tissue from the outside of her uterus, that was then sent off for diagnosis.
Those pathology results came back and it was confirmed that Jana has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of uterine cancer.
So, what's next for us?
We WAIT
Jana is getting a PET scan this coming Monday, December 13. This scan will show the doctors exactly where the active cancer cells are located, which will determine whether they perform major surgery to remove affected tissue, or use chemo treatments to take on the affected tissue.
Either way, it’s a major battle we are waiting to face. There is also a “tumor conference” on December 16 where her Dr. will present her case to a round-table of other oncology specialists and they will group-think on how to tackle this case. We will meet with the Dr right after this conference.
We PRAY
For healing, for peace in the midst of waiting, for mercy each step of the way.
We ACT
By getting Jana's physical health optimized for this battle through diet, and continue to pour into her spiritual & mental health. She has been to a naturopath already and made a massive diet change.
It’s here at Christmastime we hold onto the hope this Advent brings - it reminds us that no matter how dark it gets, the light has come, and the light is coming. The darkness we feel today will not have the last word.
We are already thankful for the great community we have near and far that will rally around our family with prayer and practical care during this time. We cannot do this without you!
