July 8, 2021 While at work as a dispatch/technician for Popp Communication out of Golden Valley, MN, Jamie was supposed to go to a job site but only made it to the parking lot. When he didn't show up for the job, co-workers called him, but he was unable to answer the phone in his pocket because he had suffered a stroke and was unable to use his arms. After approximately 2 hours Jamie's coworkers found him unresponsive in his truck. They responded quickly to get Jamie transported by ambulance to North Memorial Hospital in Robinsdale, MN arriving at approximately 2pm.. Cassandra, Jamie's companion of 11 years, got word of Jamie's transport to the hospital, called Tom and Mary, Jamie's parents and they were quickly transported to the hospital from Moorhead, MN by Jamie's brother Jeff, arriving at approximately 6pm. Jamie had a vessel burst near his brain stem and that is where the swelling shows up on scans. This has affected his swallowing, speech, and the left side of his body. At this point the goal is to get Jamie's blood pressure down, swelling down, and his body strong to heal naturally. Jamie is being cared for in the ICU and is allowed 2 visitors only because of covid restrictions. Mary and Cass are at his side 8am-8pm Tom and Jeff are the best support! Jamie's mind is sound and he understands answers questions perfectly: he knew the month and date!
