On September 15th, 2018, Jamie had a mortar firework blow up in his hands. He was rushed to the Granite Falls Hospital where they called for a Lifeflight to bring him to HCMC in Minneapolis. He was in surgery for 4 hours with the surgeon trying to save his right hand. She was unable to do so and his right hand was amputated at the wrist. He also lost the top part of this middle finger on his left hand. He has more surgeries scheduled to try to save fingers on his left hand.
