Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Friday, May 25, 2018, James realized he was having a problem forming sentences. A friend took him to the ER at St Dominic. That evening a CAT scan was done on his brain and it revealed three tumors - one the size of a marble and two much smaller ones. Doctors felt that the presentation was not brain cancer but a cancer that started somewhere else. Scans performed the next day found cancer in his lung, lymph glands, shoulder bone, and adrenal glands. He was released from St Dominic on Sunday, May 29, 2018, with prescriptions for several medications including a steroid to ameliorate the swelling in the brain. James underwent a biopsy on May 31. Because of the cancer's spread, it is considered Stage 4. As of June 6, 2018, we are still waiting to find out the results of the biopsy to know the type of cancer. He meets with his oncologist on June 11.
