Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On August 12, 2017 at approximately 7:45 pm James was in accident where he tipped the Ranger when he over corrected.  James was unable to move his arms or legs. The Beresford Ambulance help out and took James to Sanford in Sioux Falls. Once we got to the hospital we found out that James had 2 broken vertebrate (5 & 6). The ER doctor and the Neurosurgery determined that it would be best to have surgery to correct the vertebrates. Dr. Asphora completed the surgery on August 13th at 2:30 ish in the morning.

James is currently stable. He was having a hard time breathing because his diaphragm isn't working at full capacity and his right lung has large contusion on it and is not working well.  Because of that the ICU doctor decided to intibate him to make breathing easier.  They are also giving him a feeding tube for nutrition and medications.

Currently we are waiting to see if the spinal cord will start healing itself and James will start to have feeling in his legs. His arms seem to be working better now.
