Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  After a complication on Friday September 15th at home he was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire where they did a CT scan and because of the massive stroke and bleed on his brain they felt it would be best to transport him via helicopter to Marshfield.  Once he arrived at the hospital in Marshfield they did another CT scan and took him into emergency surgery to stop the bleeding and relieve the pressure on the brain.  Prior to surgery the Dr. was unsure of anything and said Jim would have a 50/50 chance of pulling through surgery. Also saying that he could be paralyzed on his left side and on a respirator and feeding tube.  After 5 hours of surgery, the Dr briefed the family saying that the surgery was successful and he was able to control the bleed and relieve pressure.  He was put into an induced coma for the next couple days to assist in the healing and allow his body to rest.  He is in ICU and will be for sometime.
