Dear Friends & Family,
As many of you know, James went to the emergency room on Sept 1 with an intensely painful headache, where they discovered it was a cancerous brain tumor. 4 days later, he had surgery to remove the tumor. He has since been diagnosed & biopsy results have confirmed that he has small-cell lung cancer that has spread to his brain.
Unfortunately, this type of cancer is very fast-moving so everything has been happening very quickly. The brain surgery went well and aggressive treatments have already begun. We have a dedicated team of doctors and nurses working to help us through this fast-moving approach, and we will do our best to keep you all up to date.
We are extremely grateful to all who have been in touch with kind words, positive thoughts and prayers, meals, help with Meghan, helping around the house, accompanying us to the many appointments and meetings we have already had with the oncologists, surgeons, and radiation specialists, and just spending time with us. There are too many of you to mention by name, but please know that every gesture has been appreciated and noticed. Also, my sister has set up a Go Fund Me page (
