Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with, and started receiving treatment for IgA Nephropathy (kidney disease).  The time has come to receive a kidney transplant and my sister Janel Olson is a match to donate.  December, 2015 Janel and I traveled to Mayo Clinic in Rochester for several days of testing.  Although I was approved for a transplant at Mayo I wanted to check out the University of Minnesota Transplant Center.  After visiting the U of M I decided this is where I wanted to have my surgery. I have been approved and am currently waiting for a surgery date.  Because of all of the necessary vaccinations needed prior to surgery, the date has been pushed back to May.  I will post a surgery date as soon as one is available.
