As many as you know, Jake was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in August 2016. This past year has been a year of tough surgeries, treatments, giving himself shots every week while going to school, working out with baseball team and fighting it with his strong determination. We all thought he had it beat, but the unexpected happened. It returned exactly a year later. Typical for Jake, he took the news and pressed on with more surgeries, more doctor visits, but also his positive attitude and sense of humor.

Last week he received the news that none of us wanted. The cancer has been found in his chest, meaning more treatment and even tougher treatments.

We have no doubt that Jake will attack this with much spirit and determination as the first go around. For those that know Jake, you know how caring he is and how much compassion he has for those around him. His sense of humor has gotten him though tough times and despite it all, he's always the life of the party and it's always been important to him to make people laugh.

Last Friday Jake started his first dual immunotherapy treatments. He will do 4 of these treatments then move to just 1 immunotherapy treatment going forward.

Thanks for all of your prayers and continued support!!
