Our dear friend, Jacqui, was recently diagnosed with stage two, HER2 breast cancer. About a month ago, Jacqui felt a small lump in one of her breasts. She went to get it checked out and found out that the mass she found was cancer, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. On Monday she met with an oncologist and they devised the game plan. First chemo, then surgery, then radiation. The cancer is aggressive, so things need to move fast. Chemo starts next week.
Jacqui has a long road ahead of her but in true Jacqui form she's staying positive and optimistic. She feels good about the plan her doctors have in place and has adopted the mantra: I am healthy. I am strong. I've got this.
Yep, Jacqui is as sweet as they come. But, Jacqui is also a bad ass. This will be the place to go to get updates on how Jacqui’s kicking cancer’s ass one day at a time.
If you know Jacqui, you’re so very lucky. Because it means you have a loving, caring, selfless friend. It’s time to give Jacqui the love and support she’s given all of us throughout the years.
