Welcome to our CaringBridge website. This is NOT A DONATION PAGE. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Jacob was involved in a severe incident this morning. His head was pinned & crushed between a building and the foundation.

He went to St. Vincent Hospital this morning via helicopter. He is stable, responsive, awake & alert. He is communicating with his nurses & doctors(hopefully they're hot so it makes his stay a tad bit easier). We spoke with a neurosurgeon after his first round of scans & tests were done. That's where the positive outlook for his recovery started. We were informed he had bleeding on his brain, skull & facial fractures, but he was VERY lucky and doing great for what he endured. One of his skull fractures starts at one ear and ends at the other, crossing over the bridge of his nose. His eyes are swelled & severely bruised due to said fracture. He had another CAT scan done at 4pm to make sure things were still stable and there wasn't any blood building up under the bone. We got news this evening that those results showed the size of the bleeding has decreased!!! We have not been able to talk to him or see him yet, as the current hospital restrictions do not allow him to have visitors. He is very tired & was sleeping after his 4pm CAT scan (which is good as it means they have him comfortable enough to sleep)! His nurse for the evening has been wonderful & reassured us to not worry or hesitate about calling too much to check up on him. He will be monitored over night & get another CAT scan done in the morning to make sure everything is still going well.

I know it's not much information, but this is literally all of the information that we have received. We will keep everyone updated as we hear more.
