Jackson Ford Jackson Ford

On  March 22, 2017 Jackson was diagnosed with Leukemia.  This journey began when Jackson started to rum a fever and complain of left leg pain on Saturday March 11, 2017. These symptoms continued  into the next week. We took Jackson to his doctor on the following Tuesday where he had X-rays and labs done. His doctor diagnosed him with a  viral infection in his left hip joint. She explained that this infection should only last for about a week and he should be back to himself by Friday. Jackson started to feel better until his fever spiked to 102 on Thursday afternoon. We called his doctor on Friday with our concerns if having a fever for 7 days and she decided to have him admitted to Memorial Central Hospital on Friday afternoon. There were more X-rays and labs, but nothing to indicate more than an infection.  We were released back home on Saturday afternoon. The rest of the weekend was great. Jackson had lots of energy and we got to enjoy the beautiful weather outside.
On  Monday afternoon I noticed Jackson limping. I asked why he was walking funny and he told me that his right hip area hurt.  This was the first time that we had ever seen him walk like this and it was on the opposite side from where he was complaining of pain the week before. We called his doctor again on Tuesday morning. After a lot of questions she asked us to schedule another appointment with her to look at additional labs. I received another call from his doctor on Tuesday afternoon. She explained that she had called a colleague of her and explained some of the symptoms that we were seeing.  Her colleague is a Hematologist Oncologist and wanted to see Jackson and could fit him in ASAP.
