Welcome to Jackson's CaringBridge website. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Jackson was diagnosed with brain cancer following a visit to the ER on September 29, 2017.   Jackson's diagnosis (DIPG - a word we have not used with him) is devastating, as there is no known cure.  There are clinical trials (we are participating in one), but the only known treatment with any impact on the disease is radiation.   Radiation is used to slow the growth of the tumor and extend life for a period of time.  We are, of course, hoping that the clinical trial in which we are participating is the breakthrough doctors are seeking, but our main goal is to focus on the present and enjoy every second of the time that we have with our very special boy.

Jackson has many passions, but facts and swimming are definitely at the top of his list.   As anyone who regularly interacts with Jackson knows, he is curious about any and all subjects, has likely read a book or watched a documentary on almost any topic, and will share all that he knows - whether you are particularly interested or not.  When he is not searching out information on his latest curiosity, he can be found at the pool  swimming with the Emory Eagle Swim Club or the Clairmont Cudas.

Jackson is just a very special nine year old who loves his friends and family, is kind and generous, and brings joy to those who know him.
