Jack had a kidney transplant 30 years ago and it is time for another one. His grandfather was 74 when he donated his kidney to Jack and now that kidney is tired at 104 years old. So last year, when we knew that another transplant was needed in the not too distant future, I, Jen, starting the testing process to see if I was a match. This fall, I was accepted as a donor for Jack! Our 3 boys will be well taken care of  by their Uncle Bruce and grandparents while we are in Boston for a month. Jack will be in the hospital at Brigham and Women's for a week while I just have to be there 2-3 days. Hospital visits two to three times a week post surgery for three weeks is required though, in addition to once a week thereafter for a bit.  As of now, the surgery is set for the morning of Thursday, January 11. We will recover at my aunt's house in Waltham, MA until we can be back at Taft in CT with our boys.
