Jackie Hurst Jackie’s Journey

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As most of you who are seeing this site already know, Jackie was recently diagnosed with Glioblastoma, which is one type of brain cancer. Following several days of imbalance and falls, her doctor sent her for an MRI on Monday, May 11. The tumor was found and she was immediately admitted to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. Her neurosurgeon, Dr. Peter Boehm, Jr., performed the surgery on Wednesday, May 13. The surgery went well and they were able to remove 96% of the tumor. On Saturday, May 16, she was transferred to Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation also in Chattanooga. Her first day in rehab was a good day. Most of the physical therapy time was spent in assessment of her cognitive and physical abilities. Branen is staying with her and was able to confirm how well she did.  On Tuesday, May 19,  they met with Siskin staff and were given a probable release date of May 28. As we travel this road together, we covet your prayers.
