Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of encouragement. As many of you know, Jackie has suffered with multiple health issues since she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 15 months old. She  later developed kidney failure and received a kidney transplant in 2006 and a pancreas transplant in 2007.  She has had a bumpy road along the way, but also had improvement in the quality of her life with the transplants. Being on immunosuppressant medication to keep her transplanted organs from rejecting, she has been more susceptible to diseases, such as, cancer.  Jackie was diagnosed with terminal adenocarcinoma of the biliary system in May 2019.  She started having pain and went into the ER for what was thought to be possible gallstones. Upon imaging a large mass was discovered  that was biopsied and found to be  malignant.  She has been in and out of the hospital for complications with drainage of her gallbladder due to many obstructions caused by the cancer. She is currently in the hospital now because of a reaction from a metal stent that was placed in her bile duct for a longer lasting solution to drain bile from her liver.  GI surgeons have fixed this again and we hope she recovers quickly so she can return back home to be with her family.

Jackie is really a teacher to all of her close family and friends. We have all watched her suffer with zero complaints. She is the most selfless person we all know. She has committed her life to the Lord and prays daily for other people’s suffering. Her faith has brought me and many others closer to God seeing how she is so godlike and reminding us all what is important in life and that is to have God in our lives and be caring, loving and doing good for others.

Jackie has spent the last several years helping her siblings raise our children and sharing with them her values of strength and wisdom. We have all been so blessed to have her in our lives.

We ask for prayers for Jackie and our family and will continue to update everyone.

Love you all and God Bless!
