On June 14th, Jack was on his usual lunch route walk when he was run over by a pick-up truck. He was immediately rushed to the ER at Regions Hosptial where he went into emergency surgery to find the source of internal bleeding (spleen). The surgery was successful but there is a long journey ahead as he sustained numerous life-threatening injuries. Right now he is in critical condition and being treated in the ICU at Regions Hospital. We will continue to post updates here as we know more. We ask for your prayers and thoughts at this time as his road to recovery will be a long process. At this time it is unknown if he will fully recover from the trauma he has suffered.
Below is a brief list of the injuries he sustained: - Ruptured Spleen (now removed) - Collapsed lung on left (chest tube in place) - Bruised lungs - Numerous rib fractures - Left scapula fracture - Sternum fracture - Clavicle fracture - Fractures of spine T4-T10 and L2-L3
