Welcome and thank you for visiting Jacks CaringBridge site!

I am Dede, and I am going to try to update everyone on Dads treatment through this site.

Some of you may know, and many do not, but Dad (Jack) was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor at the base of his Tongue on December 8th of 2017.
After a rough Summer of sore throats and swollen glands, swallow therapy, and several diagnosis, we finally got the news.
It is stage 3, although the Doctors tell us it is hard to give a stage to this type of cancer.
Jack started treatment this week on Monday, December 18th.
He will have 7 weeks of daily (no weekends) Radiation and weekly Chemo treatments.
The doctor says this treatment is very aggressive, but gives him a very good prognosis.
The problem He is having right now is not being able to swallow. This isn't helping with his hydration and nutrition.
He will have a PEG tube (feeding tube) inserted on January 5th. It is an out patient procedure. The treatment is difficult because of the location of the tumor.
We could use lots of Prayers right now as we try to make Jack more comfortable, so that he can receive the treatments he needs.
