Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On March 1st, mom and dad went to Reno for a cribbage tournament.  While there, dad had a heart attack and went to the VA hospital in Nevada.  He was in the hospital for 8 days before flying back to Minnesota.  He was in the hospital in Minneapolis for another 8 days.  At that time, the major issues for dad were his heart (he now has Afib after that heart attack), his kidneys, and he has a sore on his toe that was very painful and actually getting worse.  While he was in the hospital, they found a cancerous tumor on his bladder.  He has had many tests and procedures since that time and he had the tumor removed.

A few weeks ago, dad had a couple episodes where his blood sugar dropped drastically, and the ambulance was called.  The second day, we had him taken to St. Mary’s in Rochester.  He was in the hospital for a few days and looked and felt great when he got out.

Dad, however, is back in the VA hospital in Minneapolis.  He has been there since Thursday, May 11th, as they wanted to do a procedure to check the circulation in his leg.  There were some issues and he did finally have the procedure on Tuesday the 16th. He had another procedure scraping his bladder on May 18th. We are currently waiting to hear the next steps when it comes to his toe and amputation is a possibility.
