Jack Norman Cole arrived Sunday, December 2 at 3:36 AM weighing 7 lbs 14 ounces and 20.5 inches. Alison was a natural birth champ and had a wonderful delivery, however within a few minutes of being born, Jack unexpectedly coded. Nurses and doctors were able to quickly stabilize him, but Jack has spent the first several days of his life very sick and in the NICU.
We're starting this CaringBridge as a way to keep family and friends updated on Jack's progress without feeling overwhelmed by text messages and phone calls. Please know we appreciate and feel all your thoughts, prayers, and encouragement, even if we don't respond. Our priority is being with and caring for Jack every moment we can.
(A note on Josh and Alison's behalf - Many of you have asked "how can I help?" and for now, the easiest and most helpful way is through donating to the GoFundMe we have started on their behalf. As you can imagine, with a baby in the NICU, medical bills will quickly add up for the Coles, only for their insurance deductible to reset at the first of the year. This also now, in addition, to their stay in Indianapolis while Jack is at Riley and the added expenses of living out of a suitcase.
