In August of 2016, we began an unexpected journey when we found out Jack had developed a problem with his bone marrow. He eventually was diagnosed with a rare condition called Aplastic Anemia, which is a failure of the bone marrow. Fortunately, there is a treatment. Jack will get a bone marrow transplant on November 22 and is expected to spend 4-6 weeks in the hospital. Alan or I will be with him in the hospital every step of the way.
As a newbie to this, I have no idea how often I (or Jack) will post updates here, but it seemed like a good way to share info with the many, many people who have expressed their concern and support (which means so much to us!)
