As you may know, Jaak successfully fought two MALT lymphomas, in 1998 and again in 2007-09. In mid-November 2016, he was diagnosed with a rare type of squamous-cell carcinoma. Although we're well acquainted with the dismay of a cancer diagnosis, this new disease has taken us by surprise. In contrast to our earlier experiences, it has been fast-moving and physically painful. At present, we are preparing to move Jaak from rehabilitation care at the Otterbein SNF in Perrysburg, Ohio, back to our beloved home in Bowling Green. There he will receive home-based hospice care. Some details of our journey can be found in the entries below. We appreciate your support and words of encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
