Hello Caring Bridge Family.
I learned about Caring Bridge after a friend, who battled cancer, introduced me via his site. I was happy and relieved to be able to follow and support his battle when I could not be there in person.
His fight and your stories inspired me so much that in 2013/2014 I trained for 24-hour mud obstacle events titled World’s Toughest Mudder. I completed these grueling 24-hour obstacle events with you in mind. I wore a necklace with a little angel’s face, she was such a sweetie, during both races.
It is now 2018 and I am training for and will participate in the Iron Man Florida in November. My training inspiration, and the thoughts I will carry while participating in the event, are your individual stories. I will run this event for you! I will swim/bike/run for those who cannot.
This is just an initial entry and I hope to hear responses from Caring Bridge members. I just want you to know that a random stranger is thinking of you. That some random stranger will use your thoughts and prayers as vital energy to endure this race. I am 54 years old and expect this to be a challenge, but not in comparison to your challenges. I hope you find solace knowing that some random stranger is carrying your spirit, your smile, your tears, and your joy with him throughout his training regimen and throughout the Iron Man, Florida event.
