Hello, all: this is hard for me to write yet seems easier than trying to speak to each of you individually. And I’m an A-1 coward when it comes to this stuff. I was diagnosed with cancer around Dec. 23. Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It’s in the appealing location if my lower rectum and vagina. Nothing glamorous about me, by God. Tests thus far haven’t properly isolated it, so I’m scheduled for fancy MRI Jan. 4. It won’t be pretty! Once read, I’m off to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to meet with 3 (count ‘em) oncologists—medical, radiology, surgical, to determine what care I need. I will need all the support I can get: any thoughts, prayers, voodoo dolls, whatever you’ve got, I’ll accept. Obviously, I’m being tested. I’ve told Kathy W, Betsy T, Elizabeth G, & Margi N. But that’s it. I don’t have the energy for more right now. Love you all & I know we’re in the same corner. Irene
