Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
About a month ago Inky started noticing numbness on his left side.  After many doctor visits and MRI's a tumor was found in his brain.  A quick trip to Fargo and it was determined that surgery was needed.  On Wednesday, April 13th, a team of 9 doctors/nurses performed brain surgery.  The surgery took 3 1/2 hours.  The doctors had to map out the brain to make sure they didn't hit any major nerves, since the tumor was pushing on the motor part of his brain.  To ensure they didn't hit any major nerves Inky had to be awake during the surgery.  Doctors would stimulate a nerve and he had to tell them where he was feeling it at.  So during the operation Inky talked about his horses, ponies, and horses again. The funny thing is the doctor is afraid of horses. After surgery he was awake and said a quick hello and was off to recovery.
IF YOU PLAN ON VISITING HIM AT THE HOSPITAL OR WHEN HE RETURNS HOME PLEASE DO NOT WEAR ANY PERFUMES OR "STINKY" STUFF.
