Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting this website. Ilse had a stroke on Friday evening, October 12th.  She was over at Emerald Crest Memory Care visiting her husband, Dave, as she does everyday. He was at the main dining room table getting ready for dinner and she had gone to his room to straighten things. She had her stroke in his room and the staff at Emerald Crest found her on the floor and called the ambulance. We are so thankful to God that she was there, did not get hurt in her fall and was in the good hands of the EMS quickly. Fairview Southdale has an exceptional Stroke Center so she was brought there where her evaluation began. Ilse has had an ischemic stroke from a clot that is lodged in her brain. Unfortunately there was no surgical way to remove it or dissolve it quickly for various reasons. This stroke is affecting the left side of her body and quite big. Our God is big and we invite you to pray with our family on her behalf for healing.  As you know, Ilse would say God has been so good to me! He IS with her now and her trust is always in him...in His plan and His will. She loves God's word and can recall many  scriptures from memory. If she were talking, she would probably look us in the eye and lovingly quote Proverbs 3:5,6 " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path."
