Isaiah was in a motorcycle accident on 4/19/2020. He is currently in the ICU at North Memorial. Due to COVID -19, he cannot accept visitors at this time.
Most important to note is that Ike is stable and does not have any life-threatening injuries at this time. Since arriving at the hospital he has been sedated and intubated, and will be weening off of both as he gets stronger. He underwent orthopedic surgery on 4/20 to place a rod in his leg as he received a compound fracture during the accident. The surgery went well since they were able to place a rod in his leg, but there are bone fragments still remaining and he may need additional surgery. There are a few small brain bleeds that are being monitored.
Ike's medical bills will hopefully be covered by a combination of health and motorcycle insurance. However, he will still have rent, student loans, and other bills to pay. If you feel called to assist financially, please visit his GoFundMe page at the link at the end of this description.
The hardest part right now (for our family) and as Ike becomes more conscious will be having no visitors.
