On Saturday, November 26, Ike suffered an unexpected major heart attack. He was successfully resuscitated and is currently in critical condition in the SICU at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. After an emergency exploratory surgery, they were able to restore blood flow to the heart and diagnosed that he will be a candidate for bypass surgery at a later date. He was put into a hypertonic cool state for 12 hours to alleviate stress on vital organ functions. Doctors are now slowly raising his body temperature and monitoring his vital signs. The family will know more tomorrow afternoon, and will post updates here for friends and family. Annie Laurie, Lauren and Will are by his side. Prayers are requested and the family will update when he is able to accept visitors. Updates on his condition will be shared as they become available.
