10/2/2020 Update: It is with heavy hearts we share this news. Sgt. Dennis Oliver passed away this morning. His wife, Tonie, and their two sons were with him. Please continue to pray for his family. We will provide more information on funeral arrangements as we receive them.

Sergeant Oliver—DENNIS—has been a huge part of the Highland Village Police Department and the community of Highland Village since 2003. If you’ve ever met him, you will never forget him!  His smile, his kindness, his desire to always go to the extra effort to serve!  We know he has so many relationships and with the support from his wife Tonie, we created this site to let everyone know not only what has happened, but also to post updates if you become aware of new information.

During the week of September 21st, Dennis developed pneumonia as a result of complications from COVID-19 and had to be hospitalized. While in the hospital, he suffered a stroke(s) and is currently intubated due to those complications.

We know that friends and community members will want to reach out and help him and his family in so many different ways!  Please feel free to start here with kind words of encouragement for him, his family, and all of us who are in this together!

If you want to help out in other ways, we have verified a Zelle account (the "Donate to CaringBridge" does NOT go to the family) that his wife can access directly:  214-883-5933 (username).  Within HVPD, Cpl David Harney (dharney@highlandvillage.org (mailto:dharney@highlandvillage.org)) will be coordinating our efforts to assist the family and deliver any items that are dropped off and or donated.  If he becomes aware of anything specific, he will post it here.  For starters--I know that PRAYERS will be greatly appreciated by Toni and the family!  Thank you for your support!
