My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer over 20 years ago, and beat it with radiation and surgery. His scans were good over the years until 2016 when his scans showed the cancer decided to revisit. He went through chemo, and after healing from that he was back to his boisterous self, although much skinnier. He was a good candidate for immunotherapy, and underwent that treatment for a while with good results. Eventually he had to stop that treatment due to various side effects and medications he needed for those side effects. His most recent scans showed the cancer had metastasized to his hip bone and he underwent radiation for that with success.

Unfortunately, we found out it has spread to other places in his body, and after getting a port installed he underwent his first round in a new series of chemo on 2/20/19. Although he is pretty tired, he hasn't suffered the side effects of this chemo treatment as of this writing.
