This is my soldier! SGT Hubble Hainline. He has been in the Army National Guard for 13 years now. We are from Athens, AL. He proudly serves with the 128th MP Company. My name is Shannon(wifey) We have two children, Kalib 6 years and Wyatt 2 years. Hubble was overseas in Iraq Serving in the 8th month of a year tour.

On June 5th 2007, He was hit by a sniper. The bullet entered in the left side of his neck..... Near his clavical....and exited out the back. The bullet damaged the carotid Artery and vertebral vein (I think its a vein). He actually had a good prognosis then. Thanks to the men and Women in his squad!!!!!!!!!!!! Words will never express the feelings I have for each and everyone that had a part in making sure Hubble made it! Things kind of went downhill for a while but his prognosis is WONDERFUL now. .

Hubble was scheduled to come back to the states on June 10th. But on the 8th the docs in Landstuhl discovered a clot in his neck and that he had had a stroke. At this time I was sent over to Germany to be with him. He was sent to Homburg University to get better care. The Landstuhl Hospital did not have the ability to do vascular surgery. The carotid and the verterbral clogged and caused a Stroke. Currently they are still clogged. That surgery will be done at some point hopefully not til 6 months out from having his stroke since stroke is s an antasthesia side effect. They want to wait as long as possible Being in a German speaking Hospital the communication was not to well. I did not know that he had actaully had Brain surgery when I got there. The surgery was done to remove pressure off his brain. He was kept sedated and on a vent. He responded to me very well. I read to him sometimes. Talked to him. Did anything I could. He was finally stable enough to be sent back to Landstuhl on June 13th(the American Hospital) June 15th they had him on a plane to National Naval Medical Center, NNMC. I got the honor of being able to be by his side on the flight! He flew well since he was sedated. Finally moved to Tampa VA for Therapies to get better... On July 3rd. Then on July 24th came home for CON leave to continue to get better. Only has mild problems with speech and short term memory. These are due to the Stroke he had on the 8th of June. The stroke was in the middle cerebral artery. Getting stronger everyday.. We are headed back to MD around September 21st for his crianialplasty. He will have AT least 3 surgeries ahead of him. Crianial, vascular to fix clogs and a nose job. Yes he broke his nose during all this too! He also has field of vision loss in his left eye. and constant pain in his left arm. from the gunshot. But he is doing so well considering it has only been 3 months since his injury. I feel very lucky that I have my husband back by my side again. I missed him dearly and for the most part he is still the same man..Thanks for all the prayers and support.
